bic vs foam board

greetings all
What is easier to learn on? I have a bic 7 f 9inch. I heard a foam board is easier to get up on and you can surf in shallow water. I want to practice popping up and standing before I take on the bigger surf. I have stood up but not for long on my bic. I have also taken a couple of head first washing machine like falls. At least with a foam board it won't be as hard. Any thoughts
Thanks

Hi Justice, some thoughts for you, I'd stick with the BIC at this stage because a soft board is only good for about 5 or 6 lessons then you have outgrown . I'm not a fan of a BIC either but it is better than a foamy. This board will cover everything you need to do for the moment all boards can go in shallow water just as long as it's deeper than your fins, if you have fallen on your head the only time you will notice the difference between a soft board and a hard is when the board hits you or you hit the board.
Seriously I do not recommend soft boards for other than a one day experience to see if you like surfing.
You are a little while off surfing bigger waves quite a lot for you to learn before you get there but it's all fun. :D

Thanks for the info. I'm going back out tomorrow. I really only get 4 hours in a week. Hopefully I will get better by the end of the season

I was out yesterday and the waves were perfect for everyone! They were huge for the pros and a lot of white water for me lol! I stood up every time! Not for long but at least I practiced getting up there. I was out there for 2 hours I was so obsessed! I would have stayed but a storm blew in.
