Hi mate,
I just went to surf shop near the coast and hired a board to see if I enjoyed it before buying!

I loved it and bought a second hand starter board.

Give it a try.

Have a couple of sessions with an instructor to get the basics and the rest is practice!. - I recommend TK SurfSchool - http://www.tksurfschool.com

Not that we've had much swell so far this year :( !!

Maybe you can go there every weekends or even when you have time. You will enjoy it for sure.
