Ok so I have been learning to surf on a larger softboard and have been kinda unsuccessful. So my friend asks me if I want to try and surf in his 6 foot fish. And I found it much easier to surf on the fish. I found it easer to maneuver and paddle into waves. I don't mean maneuver when actually Riding the wave. I seemed to fall significantly less and thought it was just easier overall. So does anyone know why this is happening

...Because softboards are cr@p.
They're only any use for the very first time you get in the water. They're just for tourists who want to say they've surfed, they're not for surfing.

mantaray,
it all depends on your height, weight, ability, boards overall volume, thickness, width etc... just because it worked for someone else, doesnt mean it will work for everyone, try before you buy!
