I am having some problems learning how to surf. First I am having trouble rotating the board around when I want to catch a wave. Second when I paddle into a wave I keep getting into the wave to late and eating it.

I am having some problems learning how to surf. First I am having trouble rotating the board around when I want to catch a wave. Second when I paddle into a wave I keep getting into the wave to late and eating it.

I hate to say it but I will that's gthe problem with learning to surf.No theory lesson is going to ever take the place of get out and trying to do the stuff.
To turn around sit on your board and rotate you legs you'll soon figure out which way works , or sit on your board nearer the tail and pull the board around with your hand. Paddle hard earlier and pay your dues, one wave sometime in the future you'll get your timim=ng right and then you'll advance to the next set of problems. Did ya think it was going to be easy
After 50 years there are still learning curves that present problems.
ONE THING I'D SAY TO ALL LEARNING SURFERS, DON'T SHARE YOUR PROBLEMS IN THE WATER, GO WHERE YOU ARE IN YOUR SAFE COMFORT ZONE AND GRADUALLY EXPAND YOUR SKILLS AND DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY IN SURF SPOTS.
