Hi Guys,

i have never surfed or kite surfed, and for that matter have never done any water sports. i've been snowboarding for 4 years and average at it.
My question is - should one learn surfing before going into kite surfing? i definately want to learn how to surf but have an immediate opportunity to go kite surfing soon.
What would you guys suggest?

Get in the water as soon as you can, who cares which one it is you are learning! One thing though, kitesurfing for sure will give you a hmmm unique surfing style!

Kite surfing is definitely more expensive to pick up, and either way you go it will take you more than one session to pick up either.

I say you pick whichever one you'll be able to get more experience in.
