mmm your idea of a 9ft wave may be drastically different to mine but... anywhoo... first off an Nsp funboard is probably not the best board to take out into 6ft+ waves. As far as the perling issue is concerned this is usually cause by either taking off on the wave too straight/late in which case you need to angle your take offs slightly and time them better. If that is not the issue then its a matter of board position, you are likely popping up too close to the nose and thus eating it. Try scooting back slightly on the board to find the absolute best position. Another possible reason is that you are surfing waves way out of your league particular if you are complaining about perling makes me draw suh a conclusion. Solution = try all of the above in nice easy conditions and have a blast while you are doing it :D

well all boards like NSP and the likes have a simular outline and style. Usually heavier and harder to turn with little in the way of bottom contours etc etc.. and probably not much of a rocker (although im guessing on that one) all this combined sorta makes it not the ideal choice for a larger wave. Example - could i surf my fish in 10ft surf? probably but id have much more fun and feel a lot securer on my shortboad. Surfboards are designed for a specific purpose and wave for the most part hence why people have a large quiver. In my view NSP and the like are designed more for beginers than for surfing bigger waves and generally a beginer would unlikely make it in big surf and probably shouldnt be out there anyway until they get some experience under their belt
