Hey!
First time here...

I'm from Israel, and I started a 5-day surfing course four days ago.

First of all - surfing is really awesome! I love that!

My problem.
The instructors gave us "homework" to do at home - 30 pop-ups on the floor every evening. I'm doing it and I'm doing it pretty good, but I want another things to do at home. I'm still a complete newbie and I don't have a stick, and I'm about 10 km from the beach.
Do you have some other techniques I can learn at home and then try on the board?

Thanks!

Do you have a pool? Try putting your surfboard in the pool and tieing off the leash to something stationary anywhere around the pool. Then get on the surfboard and paddle your little heart out. This will help train your back and arm muscles so that you can paddle harder, surf longer, and wont be as tired when you really go surfing.

Now, I like surfing but I would never do this. It's just an idea because there really isn't too much you can do at home to help you. The best surf practice is to actually go to the beach and surf. If youre crazy enough you can try this, it can only help you.

i find on flat days the combination of pop ups , sit ups push up reps whilst watching a good surf vid for motivation helps a lot.

Exercising to keep up your shape so next time you come back to the water, you're ready to try those new moves you saw and would like to do.
