I have an 11' Munoz board and have been doing standup paddle surfing for some time. Does it make more sense to stay standing up the entire time while waiting to catch a wave? Or should I sit down when waiting in the lineup and try to stand up and paddle fast when I see a good wave coming? I surf in Lake Michigan and there is not much time between waves when there is surf, which makes it more difficult to stand and balance while waiting for a good wave.

Stay standing up and give a good shout to the others so they can get ready for the next set.

Loads of
Stand Up Paddle Surfing information here.
I tend to stand all the time as I am generally always on the move, however if on the rare occasion I venture into a normal surfing line up I tend to sit down, mainly so I can chat to my buddies ! This stand up paddle surfing malarky is strangely addictive.
