Hi,
Last summer, I went surfing in Hawaii and I absolutely loved it. Now I want to take up the sport back home in California. I have been looking at longboards on the Internet and wanted to know which of these two you think I should buy.

9' El Porto Longboard

9' 6" Johnny Rice Custom Longboard

Thanks so much,
Ryan

How big are you? Height and weight?

TBH they both look (on the surface) pretty decent starter boards , without knowhing their other dimensions etc.

Sorry I forgot to include my height and weight.

I'm 5' 11'' and 150-160 lbs (around 70 kg). I want a board that I can catch waves as a beginner but at the same time that will last me a long time.

I can't tell much about the second board picture. The first board looks ideal. Not a lot of rocker a squash tail. Is it a 2+1 set up? I don't think the 2+1 setup is that big of deal though.

I think the 9footer would be ace. Youd do ok in the 9'6" too but thats quite a big tanker.

Thank you for all your help. I went for the 9' El Porto and I love it. I just had a private lesson on it today and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.
