I have never had the opportunity to surf but I now live on the Mull of Kintyre in Scotland, which is popular with surfers and outdoor enthusiasts.
I sometimes see surfers on the Dunaverty beach here but there are no outdoor or surfers shops for two hours of a drive away. As I have no wetsuit or board I think it would be difficult to hassle folk on their holidays, or here for the day, to try the sport out
I would dearly love to surf, as would my seven year old (but she can't even swim yet with the nearest swimming pool being over an hour a way, until the new one is built in Campbeltown). Blame Lilo & Stitch!
Would anyone qualified be able to come down to teach adults and children who can swim? Or is anyone coming to the area who could spare me the time to teach me and let me borrow their board to try it out? I would be happy to purchase a second hand wetsuit if I knew that someone would be as kind to give me some of their time?
There would be some hospitality in it for a kind surfer.
Slainte Mhath!
