"Keeping the Stoke"

Never heard of that until I came on this forum.

I know this is probably a stupid question...but cut a man some slack...I posted this in the beginners forum. So, I must ask...what does "Keep the stoke" mean?

"Stay enthusiastic". Not really worth a separate question, I think. ;)

Well then I'll make a thread out of stupid questions. Maybe I'll go and edit the thread title, lol.

Currently my 9' board has a single fin, but it came with a tri-fin setup. Will I get more balance if I put on the other two fins?

Just trying to learn more and more about surfing...this site is awesome. Sorry for all the lame questions.

No , tri-fin setup creates drag and instability but pushes the back end in turns giving sharper turns and response, rather than the clean carved arcs of a single fin.

The stoke :

Have you felt the feeling when you take a really good drop, make a really late take off, do such a good move your whole body compresses then decompresses ?

How did you feel the first time you ever rode a wave to the shore laying on your board ?

Your first green wave or the first really good ride down the line that lasted ages ?

The first jump off the board over the top a breaking wave that gave you hang time ?

The floater that left you weightless for just a moment ?

These gave me the stoke - a feeling you can only experience and not describe
