Webbed Gloves

Hello, I admit, I am a kook. I've been surfing 8 months now and I surf on a 9.0 epoxy. I surf in the North San Diego area and recently started using webbed gloves. I really bought them for warmth and since they were only $15, i figured what the hell. They help me paddle faster but I've noticed they cause a lot of strain in my shoulders, thus causing me to become fatigued. Is there a reason why nobody else uses them? Has anyone ever tried them? Should I get rid of them? Thanks in advance.

Don

I never liked the gloves......I maybe shouldn't tell you.....but.....besides the strain they are putting on your shoulder.......they are straining your style too!!

usually you will only see the kooks sporting the webs.

is it that the kook with the most gear wins????I'm not sure the prize...

Thank you. I'm done. My shoulders are killing me. I really don't care what people think about me but yeah, there is a reason nobody wears them.. Thanks.

They DO put extra strain on your shoulders and that's probably what everyone else is finding out too - hence not wearing them.

There is actually anothr product that helps your paddling (if you're still struggling) and that's something called RealWiings (2 ii s).

They do give you the extra power in the paddle but they don't put the same amount of stress on the shoulders.....

I'd say you can get some from us, but you'd probably find them cheaper on your side of the pond if you wanted to give them a go.......

i just wear mitts, they are really warm and don't find it hard to paddle with them apart from the feel really heavy at the start of the winter because i'm not used to wearing them but thats the same with winter suits etc...

Webbed gloves are generally frowned upon by more experienced surfers. They are a great way to get your shoulders conditioned though.
