I need some help and advice

Postby Guest » Fri Aug 06, 2004 6:53 am

I am planning on learning how to surf, I live around LA County but most of the time I am around OC. Is there a surfing instructor that you guys would recommend me to? preferably a surging school with a camp, it would be totally awesome if I can go through camp. I would also like to add what kind of board should I get as a beginner(when I get better)? and what should the height of the board be(5'5 175 lbs.)? Thanks a lot.

Wassup ''Guest'' (sorry but you didn't leave a handle)

I don't live anywhere near Cali (or the U.S. for that matter) but you are in one of the three biggest surf areas in the world! You must know someone who can give you help?? All you need are a couple of lessons and then practice practiceand practice.
As for boards, when you are learning the bigger the better, like 7-8 ft, that way you will have more bouyancy/stability and paddaling power/ease.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot Ozzie, i was hoping i can pick up surfing with my bra'. that's why i wanted to go through surfing camp or couple of lessons, i did some researching online and found "Newport Surf School" and "Corky Carroll's Surf School" they both look pretty wicked. But other than that practice is the answer, ill keep you updated :) .
