Chest Protection

Postby JupiterSurfer » Tue Feb 19, 2008 4:41 pm

I've noticed my ribs are pretty sore after sessions, especially my xiphoid process. I have tried the Paddle Air and it is ok. The Body Glove Chest protector is not big enough. Does anyone have any suggestions? I may have to MacGyver something...

Thanks

The solution to your (and many other people's) problems is just around the corner..... ;)

The 'C-Tec' that we've been working on for over two years is currently on it's second production prototype run and will hopefully be ready for the late spring (in the UK). It's been longer in the making than we would have hoped due to the testing process, but having used the various prototypes in all their forms, I can assure you that it's worth the wait.......

:)

PM me if you need any more info.........

Chest protection.....just got to work thru it.

When I surf in no suit my riblits get bruised the first few days....after that the problem goes away.

Local, in my wet suit I don't have the problem...I think it is that I have built up a tolerance for this area.

Now if you can help me trunk it and not rash my nipples, then you got something.

Actually, the problem doesn't always 'go away' no matter how frequently you surf. It can affect surfers of all standards - from those who surf a few times a year to pros who surf all day, every day.

Some people do actually develop injuries that mean they are out of action for a while (separated ribs is one such case - I seem to recall someone on here suffering from it).

Anyway the 'C-Tec' (Chest proTECtor) is something we came up with over 2 years ago and have been developing ever since.

As I say, not only is it designed to virtually eliminate all that rib 'discomfort' (or worse), it also helps to support you into more or less an ideal prone position for paddling, meaning less strain on your lower back, shoulders and neck.

All in all, that means all round less aches and pains, meaning a more enjoyable session - and obviously subsequent sessions .....

Anyway - as I say, the final trials will be getting done over the next few weeks and then they'll be available for sale .............

:D

Nice, keep up the creativity, this world doesn't have enough of it. (although creativity have become more common in the past few years, but still it is often shunned.) I am yet to come up with something that doesn't exist yet, although I think of it b efore I find out it exists. (I thought about webbing between the fingers of gloves, and I saw it exists, I thought about a new fin design (hard to describe.) and I found my idea exists, and many other things, but atleast I know if it exists and it works it is a good idea.)
