Tips for a new surfer

Postby surf patrol » Sun Jan 25, 2004 1:33 am

Hi kate, welcome to Surfing Waves.

Have a good read of the the main site, work your way around and you should pick up some really useful information and probably answer a lot of questions that you have, and some that you would have had in the future.
Get fit - this will help you no end.
Get in the water as much as possible - surfing regularly is the key.
Try to make a surf buddy (with more experience) so you can both stoke yourselves before, during and after surfing.
Get yourself your own board and get used to it.

Hows that? hope it is of some help. What about other surfers on the forum - what tips would you give to kate?
