Surfing Waves

Ive been surfing for a few years now and i can catch unbroken waves easily go down the line and pump for speed but i need some help on the next step, Ive been trying to do hacks and snaps to shoot spray but i cant seem to figure it out, i can go down the line and when i try to turn i put weight on my back foot and i can get the board to go sideways but i cant stay over the board any tips at all would be appreciated thanks a ton!!!!

I was able to work this issue out by watching lots of surf films and watching the guys that are really good while I am waiting for a set. The biggest thing is to make sure your knees are bent and realize that where your arms are and where you are looking on the wave can make or brake your turn. Where your looking your body will follow. If you are going back side, which I find a lot easier, when you make your bottom turn and head back toward the lip mark where you want to hit the lip and stare at it. Start your movement before you get there and use your hips to snap your turn and keep your knees bent to help absorb some of the energy along with keeping your center of gravity low. Someone else may be able to articulate the process better then I but I hope this helps you.

I havent had the chance to try yet the waves were way too weak for anything the next morning and ive had work, but theres supposed to be some waves thursday so ill definitely give it a go then!!
