Old Bic Boom-to-Mast connection

Postby cyborg » Sat Jul 24, 2004 3:55 pm

I recently received an old BIC windsurfer (12-15 years old). It may be missing some kind of clamp hardware to join the mast to the boom. I've used it four times while binding the joint with tightly wound 1/4 inch line but there is still a lot of vertical play in the boom. Despite the slop in the boom I've learned quickly and had a great time. I know it would be easier if the connection was rigid. Please steer me toward some pictures of vintage boards so I may see what the original connection hardware looked like. Thank you.

Did you ever find any information on the connection? I have the same problem.
