i've been wanting to learn cutbacks but when i get on the waves i always get stoked and just ride them down the face as far as i can with gradual turns. BUT, i can't get myself to try a cutback which i want to start doing. is it basically like doing two hard opposing bottom turns right after another? if that makes sense, cause thats how i've been imagining it. and do i need to stand on the tail end more?

i ride a 7'6 funboard. i just started a couple months ago but i just feel like doing a cutback on the board would be hard cause the size, but i see guys do it all the time with longer boards. any advice would help, thanks. and im sure this has been posted about before but its nice having your own thread to a question.

I think its easier to learn cut backs on your un natural side going from riding on your heels to carving around back towards the wave one your toes, then straightening out and carving back again.
