Hang11,

thank you for the advice, I will take these points with me on Sat.
one of issue that I am having is that I see a line up and don't know where to join.

you don't want to take other people's wave but then, there is about 8 ~ 9 people at one spot so it is uncomfortable to paddle close to them.

I am planning to go down to the beach early around 8 am this week so there is less people.

:D

That's one of the harderst things about learning, not wanting to get in the way of other people.

If you can, find a nice peak away from the pack, and don't drop in on people. If you give a bit of respect, you generally get it back.

If some of the locals take you under their wings, give you a bit of encouragement, and help you out, the whole learning thing could be a lot easier. I guess that really depends on what the crowd is like where you're surfing.

I recommend finding a less crowded spot than Belmar, that place is a zoo and its hit or miss. Driving a bit further north or south might help with that, going out early is definitely your best bet (especially weekdays if you can manage it).
