If you don't own the actual Surfskate brand board, watching that video won't matter much . It seems the board in the photo you posted isn't a Surfskate. Getting a board like a Carver, Smooth star or Gravity thruster truck will help mimic the turn and angles on a surfboard.

I have the Atom surfskate. I think it's close enough (though much cheaper)

Not close at all to how the Surfskate performs. If you want to practice turning and pumping on land, you need the front rotating truck that drives the board forward.

I've ridden the 360 truck that comes on the Surfskate, didn't like it. I also rode the truck just like the one on your Atom. It does decrease the turning radius and turn in, but it just doesn't "drive" the board forward like those on the Carver, Smoothstar or Gravity Thruster. See if any of the shops have a demo carver, our shop did.

I think i know what you are saying, I did ride a demo unit at a surf shop and there was definitely more drive when swinging.
I got the Atom because it was cheap and I didn't know at the time how much I would use it.
Still, I think it's useful.
