Learn to surf at Cayton Bay

Postby surf patrol » Sun Feb 29, 2004 5:56 am

Hi Charlie, welcome to Surfing Waves.

Scarborough is a good choice to start surfing on the East Coast. Head for Cayton Bay just south of Scarborough. It picks up plenty of swell and it is big enough to hold a crowd. You can find it by heading south from Scarborough on the coast road. It's marked on the road map and is easy to find.
Scarborough also has a couple of surf shops (or did have the last time I went - a couple of years ago now) where you might be able to hire gear - come to think of it I seem to remember there was a place in the bay car park that hired gear out. Perhaps someone would like to confirm that.

Anyway - good luck with your trip - let us know how you get on and any info you get.
