getting rid of booty stink

Postby little waves » Tue Aug 24, 2004 12:22 pm

I know this is kind of an odd post, but I was hoping someone might have had a similar situation and be able to help. Where I live the water is pretty cold, even in the summer - and I usually wear booties all the time. only prob is they don't have a zipper or anything. i stick something in them to hold them open, but they still don't dry all the way....and well, being wet for that long tends to make them a bit stinky. I don't want them to grow mildew or anything. anyone know how to dry them out proper or keep them from growing mildew/stinking?

I've had this problem a bit. To get ride of the smell use febreeze or as I've heard works... stick them into the freezer. As to drying them out.... leave them out in the sun or if you have a heater going... but them infront.

thanks for replying. i will try that. i thought about putting them in the sun to dry, but i thought it was bad to put neoprene in the sun - makes it crack, etc. i mean, it has been weeks since i have used them and they are still wet inside.

i do wash em out after i use them, along with my wetsuit...the drying part is where i am having the issues. they just don't seem to dry all the way through to the inside.

Yeh I got this a bit, what I did was to leave them in direct sunlight all day on my windowsill, seemed to do the trick 8)

Just a thought, is it possible to turn them inside out?

If not, try using a hair drier on low power then dust the insides with talc.

NB I have no idea if these will actually work, so any experimentation is at your own risk :-)
