Am I just a wuss or....

Postby Ellie » Fri Oct 27, 2006 9:39 am

does anyone else not like surfing when its really windy?? I've only been out once in the wind, it was about 25-30mph and I really struggled to even get my board in the water, then spent most of the time paddling around to stop myself being blown down the beach!

But I feel guilty when there's swell and I don't want to go cos of the wind!!

30mph winds? Surfing? :shock:

Nope, time for the pub. Or at least finding a more sheltered spot.

Yeah - no point in paddling out if it's all just windchop.

nobody likes to surf when is windy, i guess...
it's not so fun, you get tired and your board could be a dangerous element when you fall..and usually the sea is all messy...

i surf when its windy, otherwise id miss the whole winter. Different wind directions make the difference if you can find some sheltered spots, and some places dont get affected as badly by the wind, theres plenty of places here which get spoilt if theres the slightest breeze, but theres other places which break fine even in howling onshore gales, its just a matter of local knowledge :wink:

I'm not pinkophobic..... I am just not a fan of the pink lifestyle. I mean, some of my best friends are pink, and I think they're cool! Honest!

[quote="el_timmo"]I'm not pinkophobic..... quote]

But I am! It's the worst colour ever invented! Truly horrible! And I just can't understand why it's always women of 'epic proportions' (ok, fat!) who feel the need to wear it, do they WANT to look like a giant marshmallow or what?! :twisted:

Sorry, rant over! what can i say?....it's quarter to five on a friday and i'm sooooooo ready to go home!

on the surfing in winds Ellie :D .. my first year was spent in white waters on the windiest of days thanks to my bro's annoying ability to pick the worst blown out days poss' to try and teach me to surf !! i guess if youve no choice then any time in the liquid is good time but for the most part .. " hit the pub instead of the beach " :wink: :P

Thanks very much guys - nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks 'pub'!! Don't mind a bit of wind, but its a steep walk down a cliff at Cayton and the thought of whacking my board on the railings if the wind catches it gives me the heebie-jeebies!

Judging by the pic in your avatar, I'd say you at least look like a very girly girl. Which aint a bad thing at all.
