stewart's are great for begginer's and so are NSP's. But I would go for the stewart board. Maybe someone can chime in.

NSP's are REALLY heavy and make it quite hard work sometimes. My two mates purchased them as beginners (I've been surfing for around 15 years) and at first they thought they were fine, then they got themselves a large shortboard (around the 6'8 mark + ) and things were MUCH better for them. Lighter, faster, easier to duckdive.

The NSP's really are not much good. WAY too heavy and clunky for a beginner.

My humble opinion ;)

im afraid i have to disagree with you robster, when you starting out you want a bulletproof board that you can throw around.

If you get a glass straight away you are probably gonna put you foot through it.

My first deck got destroyed, yes you're right, but it was also easier to learn on and more indicating of surfing in modern times. The NSP's are just SO heavy. Just get a big, second hand shortboard (custom as they call them in the UK) and get out there. They're cheap as chips second hand and you'll destroy it and that's all there is to it. Move onto board two and keep going.

Of course, we all have our own feelings and ideas and I respect that, but this is simply, my view.

All the best :)
