kicking out

Postby grammarnazi » Mon Jun 05, 2006 7:52 pm

Any tips for a smooth kick-out? I still can't seem to get it right. Where should my weight be? (I'm a short girl on a 7'10" board.) Is it more like a quick pivot or a gradual turn? When on a wave is it too late to kick out? (Maybe I'm riding it too far?)

Thanks!

you kick out when you're too far out on the shoulder and just turn past the wave. thats it. since you're on a 7'10 thats basically all you can do. but if youre where the wave is breaking, and the wave is behind you, you cant really kick out so just bail and go under then paddle back.
