I bought a new board and I just have to say, wish I knew to expect a few scratches before flipping out on everyone.

everyone dings their board. if its not too bad, seal it with your boardwax - cos if any water gets in it'll stain it and make that part of your board soft, and you don't want that. i think you can get special repair kits to repair your own dings.

For me learning how to surf was all about scratching...

First time i got in the water i got a big rash on my knees, and the second time i came out of the waer with my knees bleeding. Tat´s because i was trying to stand up in the wrong way

fifth time in the water i hit the sand bottom with the rear fin and it broke and damage the gass on the board.

My knees healed fast and i dont hurt them anmore, about the fin, just got it fixed for some 15 dollars.

not much to complain about...

getting hurt and braking your board is part of the sport, one to be avoided as best as possible, but still part of it.
