Moving to San Diego - Need tips

Postby mrcnb » Thu May 06, 2004 4:07 pm

Hey there, my girlfriend and I are moving to San Diego for a few months to take up surfing. In all my research, I haven't found the answer to one question:
My girlfriend wears glasses/contacts. What does she do in the water? Does she just hope that her contacts don't fall out? What do other people do in this situation? She can't very well get prescription goggles or she'd look damn stupid...so does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance. Any tips on good beaches in that area or other info is appreciated as well!

Contact Lenses - my brother in law surfs, he wears disposable contacts but he hasn't lost one yet! As long as she closes her eyes under the water, she should be OK!

San Diego surfing - there are loads of places around there, too many to name here. wannasurf.com has details of breaks around the world and will give you info and possibly photos of breaks in that area.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Hi mrcnb, welcome to Surfing Waves,

Take a look at a post we had a little while ago, some of the options are discussed there.
