Book for old surfers

Postby Tom » Wed Nov 01, 2017 7:54 pm

Hi
I just published a book on Amazon, called "An old surfers story" Describing my efforts to learn to surf, during the last 10 years. I am now 69 years of age, and it may interest other in that age group. I am mainly surfing in Spain and Portugal.

Kind regards Torben

Believe it or not, I’m here for my wife’s health, like you. Benjl we have had a challenging time health wise, I have had and recovered from prostate cancer,by radical surgery and then radiotherapy.

Both my wife and I had Atrial Fibrillation and so what do you but totally review what you are doing with your life!
My wife grew up between England and Austria, she is half Scottish Half Austrian , English schooled and a dinkumised Australian.

However her spirit longed for for Mountains that don’t quake ( ruling out NZed) and her Austrian home, we have gone back to the village where she grew up. Her friends and parents of her friends have welcomed us back. My eldest son lives 10 minutes away and runs all sorts of seminars including having American Indian, Maori and Mongolian shamanic programs by authentic elders. hence the Teepee, he also has a yurt on the field overlooking the woods you see in the background, maybe soon an approved Marae?

The lederhosen are actually Austrian boardshorts but would cause strangulation of vitals if you used them as such, but the photo opportunity was too great at €5.00 a giggle pair.

The plan is to renovate a house we bought in the local village and do trips to Spain and Portugal, Theron surf time is physical rehabilitation and muscle strength regaining, I have a big lake nearby so am SUPing my way to recovery, a little less now that winter is coming.
We can also cover all of Europe by train and be tourists without the cost of plane trips from Oz and the difficulties of securing our old house while we travel.
I am planning a video series about this and hope to pitch it to paying sources.
Other than that I have several books that have been on the backburner!
There also looms the Severn Bore and the Mascaret, when I am capable of SUP surfing!

Surfing under the northern lights, a surf camp in Norway!
Full program!
