Hey guys!

I'm really interested in getting into surfing this year, I live in Kenosha Wisconsin near lake Michigan. I was wondering if anyone on here is local and could give me some pointers or advice into where to start / how to start etc etc. Open to all assistance in this adventure!

If you will surf on Lake Michigan, then:
1) your best surfing conditions will be in Winter, and
2) you will need (not just want) thick wetsuit, booties, and hood.

Thick means 4/3 mm minimum for late Spring / early Fall and 5/4 or 6/5 in Winter. You will probably need gloves in Winter, too.

Head north to Sheboygan to make surfing friends. That seems to be the biggest surf community on your side of Lake Michigan. This is where the Sheboygan surf club originated. Also, look up the Surfrider Foundation Wisconsin Great Lakes Chapter.
