yup yup...agreed, i Initially stopped with hand crafted fibreglass at the top but then i thought to be comprehensive I should give as little nod to the guys out there experimenting with carbon fibre etc im my own thoughts i guess this top category would also include firewires etc which in my opinion are very expensive and brand orientated but im sure if you have the cash you could do a lot with them...i dunno, like i sa well out of my league and what i assume would be the league of the original poster.

After posting this i decided we also need a rung somewhere in the first few steps called "battered old board" and one further up called "good buy second hand fiberglass board that has been well looked after and has just a few well repaired dings and some compression marks" but some how may be less snappy hehe

The only exception: I bought an NSP when the kids where young. They dropped it from on top of the car, closed the hatch on my suv on it, closed the door on it, dropped it in the street while carrying, dropped a beach chair on top of it, jumped on it on the livingroom carpet when they got it for Xmas and I just sold it 7 years later for $250 with only a few scrapes and scratches. I don't like how they ride but man those things are indestructable.

for sure tmt.

I just recommended a bic to someone hunting for a board for an 11 yr old...its very much horses for courses.

if the primary gol it the survival of the board you can almost go reverse that there list :)
