Turning my board and the finbox

Postby cheval_fou101 » Mon Feb 23, 2009 9:56 am

Hi, I have been surfing 2 months now and i'm having trouble turning my 8'8" log on the fins. It's got a finbox in the middle and two smaller fcs type fins on either side.

What happens if I move the center fin towards the front of the box? Will it make a big difference turning my board? Or is it all in technique.

Thanks!! :)

move the fin forward in the box, and lose the sidebites. it'll be a whole lot looser

Ditto, good advice so far, sidebites for big waves to hold up, move the fin up to loosen the board. Basic Fins 101 lesson, enjoy the stoke

Hey Guys! thanks for the info. I tried it this morning and my board was heaps more responsive. Too bad the lineup was so crowded though. I only caught 2 wave because i'm not confident enough of pulling off a controlled takeoff when there are 5 people all going for the same wave. I guess it comes with being a kook. HAHA!
