Beginner Surfer beaches

Whats up! I'm new to surfing, and to california. i live in santa monica. i was wondering if anyone knew of any good beaches to hit up for beginner surfers? some place that isn't too intimidating. thanks.

I would go to Zuma. It is very beginner friendly. It sucks most of the time but that's why it's so beginner friendly.

I've had a lesson at Sunset and one at zuma so far. Sunset is supposed to be one of the best beginner beaches in socal. Nice and slow, soft waves. Stay near the wooden steps and you'll be surrounded by lots of other beginners.
