Surfing Bible?

Looking for recommendations on a book which contains almost everything there is to know (in theory of course) about surfing. Does one exist?

Something that covers the basics, surfboards and makes, how they are made, history, knowledge of the sea including waves, rips, etc and all that sort of stuff and techniques.

Looking to buy a pressie for someone starting out.
