by yourself?

i lke to garden. if you have a yard, get some books on japanese gardens or something and go buy some plants. or build a big fish tank.

this requires leaving your house, but get a dog.

go hiking

snowboard?

read some books and rent some movies.

You have a PC and the intenet.

If your looking for a time filler, World of Warcraft. Before you sign up to text your friends and family excusing you for 5 years.

Honestly whats your intrests? Indoor stuff - Guitar is fun, get an xbox 360, read more, photography, art..?

Write. Scribble down all those random thoughts that pop through your head. Sometimes, they make poetry, others are the seed of a story. The more you do it, the better you get at it.

Or, Internet, too much free time, I find Porn is an excellent hobby and it keeps you fit.

I spend a lot of time running / training / kickboxing. Apart from that, I play a lot of computer games. And Rjd is right, WoW will consume your life! (That's why I deliberately never tried it)

why don't you scrap the idea of being bored in your house/flat/appartment/whatever - sell the house/flat/appartment/whatever and buy a motorhome/vw and just tour randomly for a bit? gotta be more exciting than just sitting at your computer then you could do stuff like surf/snowbaord/rock climb/art. just in better places - and i'm sure you could get a laptop and xbox to take with you.

i might do that actually - not now but one day...

Hmm... you said a "cheap" hobby...

nothing is cheap, as there's always more you can spend to get better gear (just like surfing).

You could take up home mechanic duties, and give your car/motorbike oil changes, brake pad changes, rust repairs etc... I find that this takes up all my spare time...

He has a PC, lotta stuff you can do cheap with that.

Free online MMO's/MUDs

Website development, programming, all free (php, java/eclipse, mysql etc).

Doesnt cost a lot to buy a musical instrument like a guitar and that can lead to years of fun.

A great hobby is BMX freestyle, it keeps you in shape and is one of my favorite things to do...

Setting up a saltwater fishtank is always great and is more exciting then it sounds. Check out this link if you decide to try that www.aquariacentral.com
