a) what all-time song gets you the most stoked to surf?
b) what all-time song do you think would be voted amongst the "world" as the best surf song of all time?

My responses:
a) I forget the title, but that Everclear song from the mid 90's....."we can live beside the ocean, leave the world behind, swim out past the breakers, watch the world die"....that line gets me really in the mood to surf.
b) Good Vibrations - Beachboys

My #1 song that keeps me stoked all the time is called Oh, There's Legwork by None More Black...so good

All time is too tough to tell. Probably would have to go with Dick Dale Pipeline or something.

Doesn't get you stoked; but The Beautiful Girls - On a Clear Day has gotta be one of the best surf songs around :)

I have to say that other than the Beach Boys I've never knowingly listened to a surf song.

However I have visions of what a surf song would be like, I've been to Santa Barbara and listened to the live music in bars there.

:spew:

Maybe someone could enlighten me?

(Actually there is a place in SB that did live punk rock karaoke which was wicked)

Most stoked to surf: Surfing with the Alien - Joe Satriani

Best surf song ever: Dunno, I'm thinking This is the Sea - The Waterboys, but it's not really a surf song. In fact, what is a surf song?

By Vast; another cool song :D The Step into Liquid soundtrack rocks

"Candle" by Vast is another cool song that was in Step into Liquid; it was playing then they were riding the hydrofoil boards.

IDynamite....I like your pick better than mine. Dick Dale's "pipeline" is more recognizable "surf song" ever....even more than the Beach Boys tune I suggested earlier.

yeah, pretty much as soon as you hear that guitar riff you're thinking about surfing. Also his song Miserlou by Dick Dale is probably the MOST recognizable surf song (the theme song to Pulp Fiction). Either one, take your pic.

A friend of mine saw Dick Dale in concert at a bar out in the desert of Arizona (surf spot??) about a year ago. He said he was awesome (despite Dick Dale being in his 60's/70's now)
