Ola my forum friends!

So, here i am, in Sagres, Portugal! I made it!

Things haven´t gone smoothly however, I have made it to Sagres fine with my bag n board and am camping but I´ve got a flipping awful cold now! I spent all of yesterday in my tent sweating and feeling sorry for myself! I have only surfed once too ! Also, there is not an english person in sight, all the travelers are Spanish (and some german).

I´m feeling a bit better today but I woke to quite a shock this morning...

My tent was swarming with ants! Bloody loads of the buggers! They must´ve got in through a gap in the seams! I have sealed up anything edible but otherwise just left it! I don´t know what to do! I was gonna ask some advice on the matter but I won´t be back on the net until tomorrow morning and I´ll have had to have done something about ´em by then.

Yea, we have the same problem over here. Best plan is to get some string and hang anything edible from the top of the tent by string...then douse that string with ant spray

Good luck with Portugal! Take some paracetamol and start surfing!

Buy some ant powder from the supermarket and make a big circle around your tent

Keep all edibles and ant-bait type stuff in sealed containers coz the little fleshers WILL get into everything else!

Kill em.

Then glass a couple dozen into the deck of your next stick as a souvinier!.

Hehehe, I´m likin' yer suggestions folks!

However, I got back to my tent yesterday afternoon and every single one of the beggars had gone! So that was that. I was a bit twitchy last night though, certain I´d wake up with a swarm before my eyes again.

AND I feel better! The cold lingers a little but it ain´t too bad. Now all I need is this wretched wind to drop and allow for surfable conditions and I´ll be happy!

I might do the yummy bait doused in ant annihilator thing anyway, just to spite the bastards. How`s english weather? Am I missing any east coast surf?
