Sorry I think there are a lot of old fleshers who have little or no commitment to the cause trying to promote themselves.
Waste of time, if these ''Stars'' wanted to do something why don't they donate out of their royalties like Cold Play do.

Yea, I think a few of them do. U2 have really started the boom. It's also about raising awareness. If people watch this, the ads in between, etc it helps raise worldwide awareness.

I didnt think it was a bad show considering.......i remember seeing her perform ray of light with Lenny Karavitz and she was AWFUL but then it got explained to me that she was a business woman rather than a perfomer or artist.

my boyfriends opinion on the whole thing..:
"These concerts are clearly a good idea, I mean take live 8, since that happend world poverty has ended. Give it a few weeks and global warming will be a thing of the past. Next on the lineup is 'Live Terror' which will be used to get rid of terrorism, cant fail.
ah well....at least we get an alright show out of it.....beats a night out in Bournemouth any day of the week!!

I've got my reservations against the concert to be honest; it's all quite hypocritical.
Apparently the Live Earth event is going to cause at least 31,500+ tonnes of carbon emissions, and 1,025 tonnes of waste (which will be dumped in a landfill).
Not to mention the fact that the organisers are only going to buy a mere 3,000 tonnes of carbon offset lol, to offset against their 31,500+ tonnes! (what about the other 28,500+ tonnes!?)
Madonna's going to be up on stage spouting about 'saving the planet', 'talking to the earth', whilst her Mercedes Maybach, two Range Rovers, an Audi A8 and a Mini Cooper S are sat at home in her garage.
She generates 1,018 tonnes of Carbon emissions alone! (and the average person generates 10 tonnes!)
Then Johnny Borrell from Razorlight is encouraging us to use electric eco-scooters, when he has a 1,000cc Moto Guzzi bike! (a fuel guzzling beast!)
It all just stinks to me!
Help save the earth, Scrap Live Earth!

Yea, I know a lot of them are hypocritical...but what they're trying to do is get their fans to change. Yes, they should also stop being fools and do it themselves..but 10000 fans changing is better than none?!
