Surfing Waves

I'm 27 and approaching a series of crisis (birthdays). The best way to alleviate this (in my opinion) would be to be to run out and buy a longboard (the skating version not the surfing one).

Any one of you lovely people know anything about this and could offer help and the way forward?

My mate has got one they're fair good fun but make sure you have enough steep, smooth roads arounds where you live. The road we took my mates was made of stome chippings and that totally fu*ked the bearings up. I serously damged myself trying to do a hang ten stoned hehe.

I called for information they were really helpful. They are surfers who skate. I am sure they will email too, if calling is not an option.

nah make yer own, i did, 5'9" and super dooper noserides, (30 seconds :))
only big expense is wheels, trucks etc. other than that you should so do it its great.

All too confusing. Sector 9 or Fibreflex seem to be the way to go though. I think I shall find a friendly shop and try them out.

The next question is what length board to go for?

I have a Sector 9 but I now wish I had a Gordon & Smith instead.

If you to a good skate shop (like Surrey Skate) then they'll let you try them out before you buy.

quick question, does longboard skating just simulate longboard surfing, or shortboard too?

also, I'm not too sure, but what's the main difference between surfing and skating (besides the water)?

I agree, i made mine too....Plys a bit thin, but thats ok if i don't eat too many pies...
Dead easy, i don't have a workshop, just a jigsaw, a sander and a drill...get an adult to help with the tricky bits.

Mate, I have a sector 9 cloud 9 and it is soo cool for carving etc. You have a number of choices, judging by how you wanna ride, if ur looking for a cruising board, its best to get a long fairly rigid deck, like sector nine or a barfoot, but if you're looking for a bit of speed, then go for a more flexible and shorter deck. its all up to your choice, they're so customiseable anyways. but yeah i agree with loose-foot, go to surrey skateboards, its damn good!! they're the best in england for longboards in my opinion...

i ride a sector 9 concave bomber(or something like that) it carves really nice, turns on a dime.
