NW OZ .. Broome

Hey all .. just a quick nod to ask if anyone comes from or near a lil' place called Broome (NW Oz) ..looks like im heading out there by the end of the year to see family so any info on the place would be good

don't come from there, but it's meant to be absolutely beautiful... but don't try surfing... salt water crocs, and it's pretty dangerous. Oh, lots of thunder storms over our summer, and it's pleasant weather over winter.

I thought that would be a probalem (you know the old thing about darwin "if the sharks don't getcha the crocs will").

But the major warning is for stingers (jellyfish)! Check the wannasurf ref on the other (identically named but on the General Surf forum) posting.

nice one thankya gents' :D .. cable beach looks awesome and as for the surrounding scenery .. wow ! .. my cuz obviously knew what he was doing when he made his decision to bail from blighty :wink: :D

.. i need to wave goodbye to grey weather over the next few years my man .. it aint good for my soul, ive done my time in the soggy blighty trenches :wink:

hehe ..my cuz is a petrol head, i dont think hes been in the ocean more than twice since he got there 8yrs ago, hes one of the motox dune riding, gun toting hunter types !! so the surf wasnt an issue to him .. i'll drag his butt out on a mal' for a wobble somewherez :wink: 8)

Sounds like the perfect relationship. You can allow him to drive you the 15 hours each way to decent surf (that's virtually next door in the outback).

And, when you find a place to live (that short distance away), you have given him an excuse for his weekend cruise :D
