what a day! :( & :) !!!

You wont believe the day I've had. I spent the morning at the hospital, stressing cuz they were running late and I was due to have my yearly assessment at work in the afternoon. I found out I need an operation in may and felt like crying (naturally!).

I rushed back to work, got held up in a traffic jam and almost didn't get to my lesson on time. I practically ran to my classroom, sweating like a pig, red in the face, hair windswept and drenched from an inconvenient shower. I knew the assistant head, deputy head and head of the BSSS cluster were coming to observe my lesson and grade my teaching for the year.

Having bad news and running late just made me stress like MAD. I taught the lesson as best I could, thought it went ok (the kids seemed to like it and I ended up getting the giggles) and all three of the staff unanimously gave me the VERY TOP MARK POSSIBLE and said I was an OUTSTANDING teacher! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I nearly fainted with shock and gave them all (very unprofessionally) a big hug!!!!! I just can't believe it. It's really really rare to get full marks and have no criticisms whatsoever - nothing I could have done better or need to improve. Less than 1% of teachers at my school get full marks!!!!! naturally my head has now swollen to twice its normal size and I've got a grin from ear to ear.

It's just been so strange going from total depression at facing surgery again to high as a kite and being told your outstanding at your job. Did I mention that already?

I'm going to ring all my friends now and let them know how it went... I'm so glad it's over for another year. Will try and forget about the whole hospital thing for the moment...

Has anyone else had an interesting day?

I wish my day had gone so well.....except for the surgery part!

My wife of great multitudes of years dropped the bomb on me tonight. Says she wood really like to move back to her home town to be closer to her family, and friends.

She lived in Ohio. No ocean, unbelievable long cold winters, and some of the hottest humid polluted summers you could imagine.

Its not a done deal right now, but the way she talked was kinda scary serious. If it comes down to it, I do have 3 choices.

1. Move
2. Divorce
3. Murder

Pfffffffff................

I bet it all blows over. How could anyone live without an ocean near by?

I do it......Ohio is on Lake Erie....Depending on where you are, it is on the bottom of Lake Erie. So a nice NE wind will bring some stellar conditions there...

Check out this...Its a great lakes surfing forum.

She's from Cincinnati, its the very most south west part of Ohio. I doubt Lake Erie wood ever warm up enough for me anyhow. I dont do below 60F even with a 3/2.

oh no, so sorry to hear that - that's awful... well, I hope you find something better where the school appreciates and values you! Good luck with it all - maybe you'll have more time for surfing?

and yes, it's the shoulder again :(
I hate general anaesthetics... my poor little heart seems to pack in each time  i'm feeling scared again... and it's less than a month before my birthday, so I might not be able to even try and go surfing
