Are you gonna buy or rent one?

Generally speaking, they should be up to your nose. That's all I really know about snowboards. And lots of the rental places out here have these boots that clip in like skis, but don't get those. You want the ones with two straps and a fixed back.

Thickness shouldn't matter.

Stiffness, I would think a soft flex. With skis, a soft flex is more forgiving, but less performance oriented. So starting off, you would enjoy a soft flex. Then you can do butters and stuff :D

I have no idea about that board, except that they generally measure snowboards in centimeters, and 55 centimeters is tiny. Like....waist high...

I would recommend around a 153cm length. That's nice and short and you will learn nice and quick on it. Flex doesn't matter. Lots of brands out there, none really better than the rest but Burton is the number one seller. I've used Burton, Salomon, Unlimited, K2, liked them all. Just look for one in good shape with the metal edges still intact and not coming apart, the base without any gashes in it. If you can I say you should rent an advanced boots, binding, board combination. Most rental shops or on-hill rentals have them.

im going to be there a week, and plan to go out atleast 4-5 times. i was thinking of buying ot and having my friend sell it when i leave on craigslist. not worth it?

It really depends what kinda deals you can pull. Selling it right after Christmas might not be so easy.

However, on the hill, if something goes wrong, you can get them to fix it, instead of being stranded.

I didn't get what you were asking about the day pass....you mean the lift ticket? Yeah, every where, any time you gotta buy lift tickets.

And if you rent instead of buy, you can try skis after a day or so :D

Check what kind of deals they are running at the place you are going about renting and lift combos for extended periods. I haven't rented for a while, so I don't know.

A scarf is the little thing you throw around your neck, like in a circle.....my mom knits them, but I would never wear one.
