Not Long Till Combe......

PostPosted: Wed Nov 15, 2006 8:42 am

Every year at Easter a crowd of us make the pilgrimage down to Woolacombe. Busy lives prevail so this has become something of a yearly spectacle.

To celebrate this fact we count down the days from Sunday 13th November at 21.32 and remind each other (some more than others) that in fact it's "Not Long Till Combe"

Can anyone tell me how long it is till Combe? " ...asked teacher in a very patronising and condescending fashion ..

Okay that I can understand, I usually count how many sleeps are left before going on holiday.

But whats the Poll about how many texts rob will recieve? Or am I just being dumb

Really glad you asked that question.

Rob is one of the gang who moved away from Birmingham, ending up in Bristol. As well as being a bit of an idiot he's also the target of a text campaign that begins at 21.32 on the 13th November. This runs right up until the moment we actually arrive in Woolacombe.

Last year we exceeded 1000 texts and in the process melted his phone, got him trouble with his other half, annoyed him early in the morning. You know....childish stuff.

The construct of the text is simple. "Not long till Combe" or "NLTC" or variations of theme.

I'd love to give out his mobile number but that would be wrong of me. So why don't you all post a "Not long till Combe" message to Rob instead.

Cheers dudes

I did.
2 unintelligible posts from 2 first time posters.
That coupled with a texting poll !!! (you know my aversion to mobiles and text speak)

(I'm still considering deleting it )

Please don't delete this thread. All forums benefit from a bit of serious stuff, some fun stuff and some completely ludicrous stuff.

Papa Woolacombe

If you go in the Jube in the near future can you say hello to Wayne from the boys from Birmingham and that we'll see him at Easter. I know he will be looking forward to it as much as we are.
