thanks! I'm swamped already but hopefully it will all be worth it in the end. I've got to go and deal with some "little darlings" now, and then have a staff meeting.

It's really strange telling colleagues to do stuff. I've always wanted the LEAST amount of work and responsibility possible. It's scary getting older... however, the word DELEGATION is becoming one my favourites.

I teach philosophy, citizenship, PSE & RE to kids aged 11-18. I've been promoted to KS3 coordinator (in charge of 11-14yr olds) and have to do all the YR6 transition stuff (the little ones coming up to "big" school). It means being organised, sorting out resources, writing new schemes of work, doing alot of SEN and EFL stuff, dealing with discipline, making sure all the staff know what's going on all the time, and loads more that I wont bore you with!

That should be enough to send everyone to sleep! :D

Sometimes I wish I do, believe me! I'm quite laid back but the kids know the boundaries, and what'll happen if they cross them. I've perfected the evil glare when I'm cross and they go silent in a millisecond! It's great! Sometimes I have to stop myself from laughing when I see their worried faces! (They think I might call their parents and tell them about their bad behaviour) I think they respect the fact that I hardly ever shout (well, what's the point?). I like to get them to do something useful as a punishment - like staple 200 projects together or cut out cards and put them in envelopes (well, useful for me). When I'm particularly annoyed I get the younger ones to write an essay like "What makes me special" or "Where I see myself in ten years time". They hate having to think. I once made a kid write their own poem entitled "love" (they were discussing it in the lessson). She looked at me like I must be joking, but then did it, and it was actually REALLY good!

I've got another meeting to go to now  it's all work, work, work.
