Hey,

What are your favorite restaurants, pubs, etc... to eat before, or after a good day's surfing.

My favorites are:

1) Ruby Tuesday's (If I surf in Daytona, there's one just down International Speedway)
2) Taco Bell
3) Hot Dog (Local place in Jacksonville on A1A)
4) Tropical Cafe

Nothing beats a good Fish and Chip Feast after being in the water all day or a massive Burger! Brings back Childhood memories!

St Vedas Hotel, Coldingham Bay.

100 yds from the sea. Walk up, get changed, good food, warm drinks, open fire and friendly atmosphere..... genius!

The timing of this topic is kind of interesting, on Saturday, Corky Caroll did a column in my local paper about his favorite post surf eateries.

I love Ruby Tuesdays, but for after surf drinking......and eating you cant beat South Beach Grill. Its on Cresent Beach, and the No Shoes, No Shirt rule desent apply till after 5:00PM. Nice break right out back of the place too.

My anytime drinking, and eating spot around here is Scarlett Ohara's.

in the car or on the beach - a giant sized sandwich (maybe french bread)with cheese, tomato, & ham, or anything I can find (depends on my mood!) with a bottle of water and a few apples. Something to really get my teeth into!

Anywhere that serves a hot steak (blue / rare) and a cold pint of stella.

The Steak for the protein I need to rebuild the muscle tissues stretched / torn in the exercise, and the pint to chill me out.

Frequently the Thatch in Croyde.

oh man

a nice BIG burger, now i aint talking that Mcdonalds bull, oh no. Im talkin HALFPOUND 100 percent fresh groundbeef, covered in melted swiss chess, crispy wet lettuce, freshly diced tomato, grilled onions, and two spicy jalapenos all topped off with ketchup, a little bit of mustard, a little sweet relish, and all of it kept hot between two puffy warm sesame seed buns. On the side i would also like some fresh, thick cut, and lightly salted fries. Then to drink a nice TALL cold cold icy frosty pepsi, Dr. Pepper, or coke, and for desert a nice warm apple pie. oh my god! yessssssssss
give it to me!!!!!!! :P :P

or maybe thats just what i want to eat right now

whatever freeze dried camping food my backpacking stove feels like cooking :D

So cheap, and so easy. Grab a bottle of water, throw it on the stove, 2 minutes later, you're enjoying pretty much anything from mexican to beef stroagnoff, to mac and cheese, to chinese, the list goes on.

Although in the summer nothing tops a huge burger from Sam's. It's a short trip from my surf spot, and actually if it wasn't illegal I could paddle there.
