i know this has probably been done loads of times.... but I just had one this morning.

I was at work and managed to trip UP the stairs (not down!)... In front of the CCTV! I was mortified. I was wearing a nice little skirt and now my whole leg is cut open and grazed. I can't believe how bad it is.   There's even blood on the stairs, still....

and then I had to go straight into a class limping and teach

My 'best' embarrassing moment....

In Spain, climbing with some friends from uni, we were all a bit hungover and rough (ok, so probably still pissed!). I disappear round the crag to find a sheltered spot for a pee, then lose my balance mid-pee and roll all the way down the hill with my trousers round my ankles....in full sight of the rest of the group! :D  :D  :D

Oh well, I always like to entertain!

Most recent embarrassing moment had to do with surfing. The spot I went out at is kinda weird. You walk out about knee deep then it drops off to around 8 feet deep. The waves break out about 100 yards on the sand bar, then reform, and break right on the beach. On my way back in I got almost to the beach when I heard a wave right behind me. I slid off my board which was 10' long, I wrapped my arms around it, and held on to the nose for dear life. The wave picked us both up, and slammed me ass first right on the sand.

Glad no body had a camera that day.

Ahh Thaya, Im so easily embaressed by that kind of thing - I sympathise completely....

Ramble mode engaged:

Was in a big 'executive meeting' at work, when it came for my opinion instead of saying the 'best way forward...' i said 'the BREAST way forward.....' very tame but im easily embaressed by my stupidity and it still makes me cringe.

Went to the pub for the 12:30 kick off for the first football match of the season and started drinking on an empty stomach. Landlord had to ask my boyfriend to take me home cos I had passed out in the family pub garden and the kids were having to step over me to play. He got many a tut tut and shaken head when he helped me into a friends car - it was my loacl pub too so not as if I could avoid them.

Went surfing with a friend who was determined to get my popping up properly by the end of the session, in the last 30 mins he said to go for EVERY wave and REALLY try to pop up. I did what I was told. Thouroughly knakered I got out of the sea at the end of it - without the water holding me up I promptly fell on my a$$ and when I tried to get up juust kept stumbling about and falling over.

Drunk again - Locked myself out of the house, so tried to break in. Boyfriend and friends arrived home to find me hanging upside down from my leg jammed in the window frame - no broken glass but the frame digging into my leg for the 30 minutes I was hanging there caused deep scar tissue on my calf muscle - about 4 years ago and still have a dent in my leg.

I could go on with various fallings over/saying stupid things in a public forum but that would be even more of an essay....

aggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggh!

an update........

I ended up in A&E! My knee swelled up like a football within a few hours and I needed 2 stitches in my ankle to stop the bleeding... and there was me soldiering on teaching till the end of the day!!!

What bad luck. When I asked around at work, I found out that 5 other people have tripped up the same stairs in the last week. They've called the maintenance guys to have a look at them. I'm glad it's not just me! Today I'm doing all my teaching sat down with my leg on a chair and a nice hot cuppa :D I wish teaching was always like this! (although not with the whole pain thing going on).

thanks for all your funny stories. they made me feel so much better :D
