For serious crimes, it would cut down prison costs but what do you think?

Hard question..

Sometimes the victim wants the criminal to suffer in prison for the rest of their life, death is the easy way out for alot of people doing life in prison.

or how about we transfer all the prisoners to a deserted island and they have to fend for them selfs like hunt and that. Then we make a reality tv show about it and every week a prisioner is voted of the island to DEATH..

NO NO NO NO NO!!!  :x

Apart from the moral issues, If the penlty exists there WILL be innocent people executed.

The court system favours the wealthy, who can afford high priced defence lawyers.

In no way does having the death penalty act as a deterant, because the vast majority of murders are not pre-meditated....in fact after the death penalty was re-instated in america murder rates actually went up!

and we wont make the death nice

This would be revenge....not punishment...and has no place.

we are paying to keep them there .......alive

We are paying to secure as fair a system for future cases!

The last person to be hung in wales was a somalian charged with rape or sum such nasty crime,25 years later they proved beyond any doubt that he was inocent

I belive chain gangs and the like would be far more beneficial to the community as a whole with prisoners working in forced labour camps to build raods, clean up and gennerally do all the nasty mundae but hugely benefecial jobs!

It's a difficult question, we have it here in CA, but many of the people on Death Row die before thier scheduled execution date from old age or other disease. These inmates have an almost unlimited appeals process, they can and have appealed all the way to the US Supreme Court, some successfully, others not.
One of the issues with people being found innocent after many years is that they are able to examine DNA evidence better than they could when the crime was committed, usually more than 20 years before.

I think we should bring back whipping and eye gouging and bring back the Iron Maiden and the rack. Also, I think keelhauling should be a normal punishment for chavs, etc

Its costing tax payers an average £500'000 PER YEAR to keep Ian Huntley alive in prison. And now that he's on suicide watch 24/7, its adding something stupid like another £150'000 to the bill... per year.

fleshin' ridiculous for someone who wants to die, has tried twice, has other lags in prison offering a pack of B&H for someone to do the job for him... but still gets resuscitated

British justice is a joke
