theres also image verification mod that stops bots even registering on the forum in the first place

just geting sick of reading these kinds of threads

The image thing is enabled now but does not really work - as posted in the thread you highlighted on the phpbb forum. I'll have a look at adding the mod there though as it looks like it may have some effect. I might just check to see if someone is posting a a url in their first post and if so disallow it.
