When the surf is down, do any of you dudes skate? I do, good times. I was wondering if any of you longboarded or rode old school, it'd be pretty cool.

I do; 38" Bamboo Sector 9. Randals & 70mm Kryptos.
At 40 yrs however I do get afew weird looks from similar aged guys who're out mowing their lawns as I carve down their nice & otherwise quiet little streets.
Growing old disgracefully :-)

and you don't see many pics because my camera hit the ground at like 35 and smashed the lens through the screen on the back.... guess how that happened...

skating....

don't feel bad, I got close to smashing one coming around a 90 at 35 when it was sitting in the middle of the road taping.

got some good footage though, but the camera didn't get the carnage of my fall after freaking out to miss it.

Boards are looking good, how are you pressing them? or are you buying flat pressed wood?

I just got given (yes given!) one of these little babies. Only got it last week, havent been on it yet (concert this weekend and dont wanna break my neck), but my brothers been on it and it flies like buggary!! Cant wait to get back on Sunday and go flying down a few hills on it.

Mines red btw, and hasnt got any stupid luminous strips on it, just plain red with black foot bars. Will post a pic when I get back of me (hopefully not) breaking my neck on it

what....is that? looks curiously likeable

oh yeah, DF, what did you do the pinlines with? I'm building a 60"er for Guacho off SF and he wants them. I got a black paint pin, that's the only idea I have thought of.

Its a motorised skateboard. Its a fairly flexible fiberglass deck and the wheels are huge thick rubber buggers. The motors only a 49cc jobbie, but it does about 35mph on a straight road (although its really really noisy).

Should be good for getting down the hill into town in summer - no parking hassle lol. Just skate down the hill (without turning the engine on) and then power my way up it lol

make sure you're wood's straight, that's the most frustrating part, because the pins stand out more, and they'll look bad if they're crooked.

then mask off the whole board, and using a straight edge draw out 1/8" wide lines where you're pinlining, and cut the tape off these spots. Use a straight edge when cutting too so they come out straight and not wiggly. (it sucks to have to redo pinlines...)

then paint pen them in, or use spray paint, or acrylics or something, but make sure you 're using good tape (the blue or green stuff) or else it's gunna bleed horribly. pull the tape before it's dry so it won't peel it up.

and I'm pressing with a wine bottle pump thing with a specialy made fitting/valve thing and a shower curtian with foam molds. it was cheap. it works. problem solved.

I'm getting a couple more roarocket bags though and pump because I'm planning on increasing my volume too...

wine bottle pump....haven't heard that one...?

I've got a Roarockit- good in theory, although a bit on the small size and the nozzle has crapped out on me, but Ted hooked me back up with a free one and some more tape.

If you get a Roarockit, get the new 70 inch one. It might seem like over kill, but really, it's not. (IMO)
