How much do you think skateboarding helps you with surfing because ive just bought a secondhand skateboard to muck around on.

Loads

I learnt how to do floaters from bench sliding on my skateboard.
Its the reason skateboarding was invented - to practice surfing on land.

Nothing at all for me personally, but its nice pretending that your surfing while you ride

if you get a longboard with some big soft wheels, and some wide turny trucks it will help. that's what got me skating, now I am making custom decks.

thanks dudes is that really true about why skateboarding was invented for practicing surfing on land or is it just what you want to claim.

I've heard that skateboarding helps a lot with surfing, it's good practice the only thing is the falls are harder (ow, obviously!!)
