surfers should date surfers. my boy skates, but he won't even try surfing. its like an integral part of my life that he just dosn't get. if we all interdated other surfers, you would be able to be fully stoaked when your boy/girl scored a sweet wave, or empathise when someone snaked their wave or whatever. and you could have special surf dates. how romantic, you could wax each others boards! besides, there is something hot and futuristic robot like about boys in wetties....however there could be a slight problem with an online surf dating thing...we all live in different countries. oh well. nice idea anyway.

yeah, i like the idea of having time out where you can just get away from everyone and everything and do your thing in the ocean. My boyfriend doesn't understand the appeal in surfing although he has admitted he'd like to come and watch me and possibly give it a go (he's probably just wanting to check up on me and make sure I'm not chatting up any surfer dudes). Even though I'm always approaching someone on the beach if I have a query on surfing, but that's not technically chatting someone up so I should be alright. He's into skating too so I suppose he'd like to see how he'd get on in the water with trying out surfing.
I quite like having different interests with guys I see though, it's more interesting that way. Although I can see your point where the benefits would come in. Would be cool to date a surfer, they've always got something about them too, usually really hot.

I was sitting out back in Towan bay, Newquay UK and suddenly there was a really funny smell.
I turned round to see what it was and 2 girls in full wetsuits, tonnes of make up, earrings and PERFUME paddled past me!
I couldn't believe it - they'd paddled off the harbour wall so they didn't need to duckdive!
Not the most obvious place to get all glammed up!
Perfume!?

i totally agree surfers should date surfers... for me it´s the weirdest thing being in a relationship with someone with whom I can´t share one of the most important aspects of my life... it just doesn´t make any sense to me-

make up? earrings? Perfum?!!!
i think you'll find most girls who surf don't bother to assessorize before they hit the beach. as for paddling out the easy way as opposed to duck diving, try and remember that duck diving is HARD for beginners, and they might have had boyant as boards. that said, make up and earrings whilst surfing is just wrong.

i've seen it said a few times though... if you can't get out back, you shouldn't be there. if i can't get to the line p i don't go around or anything, i know i'm outta my league in that case. but make up ands stuff is pretty stupid, surely it'l just all run and end up looking dumb?

It was one of the wierdest things I've seen. They turned out to actually be quite good surfers though.
For all I know they could have been getting all glammed up to go somewhere, seen that the waves were going off, and decided to get suited up and go for a session.
The thing about that particular beach is that there are steps down from the harbour wall and at high tide it means you are already behind the lineup when you get in the water. I mean hey, if you don't have to paddle out - why bother!?
The first time I went in off the wall though, i went to push off onto my board and the leash got caught on something. When I jumped off, the leash pulled the board out of my hands, I went face first into the water and my board smashed back against the wall, making a big hole in the tail - bummer!
